PM TR P COS [...] PP reverse type depicting Hercules standing facing on an altar, holding club and lion skin. Mint of Rome. RIC II, p. 247; nos. 37 or 49. The coin has suffered two main breaks at opposite sides of the flan, seemingly in antiquity. Around 50% of the original flan survives. It measures 15.6mm by 13.5mm and weighs 1.29g.

A fragment from the attachment end of a copper-alloy late Roman artefact known as a 'nail-cleaner strap-end'; it could have been either or both. The fragment tapers from a flat attachment end to a waist with a pair of out-turned crescentic lugs back-to-back. This trapezoidal terminal is bevelled along its long edges on its front; bevelling continues around the lugs and beyond. The object has been broken directly below the lugs following old damage.
