A fragmentary cast copper alloy T-shaped brooch of early Roman date. Present is the head, with broken pin, and upper bow; the lower bow, including leg and catch-plate, are missing. The head is formed of cylindrical wings with a central slot. The wings contain the copper-alloy axis bar for the hinged pin, viewable within the slot. The head of the copper-alloy pin, with spur, is still in the slot; only the beginnings of the rest of the pin survives in addition, bent to one side. A complete Roman copper alloy finger ring with black glass intaglio. The bezel is widened and flattened; the shoulders are also relatively wide before tapering to a thin hoop around half way down the sides (min. W.: 2.8mm). There are some abrasions to the edges of the hoop and a recess formed through corrosion on the underside of the bezel. The bezel is very slightly raised in around the setting. The flan is oval and elongated with the design struck within a circular border and the flan not then trimmed. It measures 26.1mm by 20.9mm by 1.7mm. Measuring across the border gives a diameter of c. 20.1mm. The coin weighs 3.27g.
