A fragment from a Roman silver denarius of Trajan (AD 98-117) dating to the period AD 100-102 (Reece period 5). PM TR P COS [...] PP reverse type depicting Hercules standing facing on an altar, holding club and lion skin. Mint of Rome. RIC II, p. 247; nos. 37 or 49. The coin has suffered two main breaks at opposite sides of the flan, seemingly in antiquity. Around 50% of the original flan survives. It measures 15.6mm by 13.5mm and weighs 1.29g.
