A broken Roman silver denarius of Severus Alexander dating to the period AD 222 to 228 (Reece period 11). VICTORIA AVG reverse type depicting Victory advancing left holding wreath and palm. Mint of Rome. RIC IV, PartII, p. 84;no. 180. The break is old and in one area corresponding to the back of the neck and head on the obverse. It accounts for a loss of about 25% of the flan. It is not clear whether the break is deliberate.

The coin has suffered two main breaks at opposite sides of the flan, seemingly in antiquity. Around 50% of the original flan survives. It measures 15.6mm by 13.5mm and weighs 1.29g.
