A lid formed of thick lead sheet with oval domed centre of probably Roman date. The sheet has been cut broadly into a rectangular shape. It is thick at c. 3-4mm. A large sub-oval dome has been formed at the centre from hammering from one side. It attains a height of c. 45mm and measures c. 200mm by max. width c. 125mm; one side tapers and it is c. 110mm at the narrower end.
