A fragment from the lower bow and foot of a cast copper alloy brooch most probably of Roman date (AD50-350). The alloy of the metal is relatively unusual seeming to be heavily leaded creating a very grey coloured alloy. The form of the brooch comprises an angular bow which has transverse ribs terminating in a large moulded D shaped bead from which an oval shaped foot descends. The reverse of the foot is flat and abraded but seems originally to have a small vertical rib that formed a slight catch plate. The upper bow and head of the brooch is lost. A corroded silver Roman denarius of unclear type, probably 1st century in date and likely of the Flavian period, c.AD 69-96 (Reece Period 4). Unclear reverse type depicting a seated or reclining figure left, possibly holding a caduceus. Unclear mint, probably Rome. Both faces of the coin are poorly preserved with the detail obscured by corrosion.

An incomplete cast copper alloy Colchester derivative Polden Hill type brooch of Roman date (AD 80-120). The wings are complete with flat and pierced end caps. An irregular incomplete cast lead alloy vessel repair (pot mend) of probable Roman date (50-400). In plan the repair is broadly oval in shape and irregular in cross section; originally it would have been H shaped but it has been snapped across the mid-point and only a small projecting nub survives. These types of mend were used during many different periods but this example has been found with other datable Roman finds The vessel repair measures 24mm length, and is 20mm wide

An incomplete copper alloy headstud brooch of Roman date (75-200AD). The head of the brooch is incomplete as the sides are lost through erosion; this has resulted in the loss of the spring fixing mechanism. An integrally cast head plate extends from the upper edge of the head - the upper edge is rolled back to form an eroded hook and a circular hole pierces it at the centre. A near complete copper alloy two-piece bow brooch of Roman date (AD 60-200). This find has been recorded from images supplied by the finder - it seems as if this brooch is a hybrid between a Polden Hill and a Wirral style brooch. A cast copper alloy artefact of unknown function of probable Roman date. The artefact is irregular in plan and flat in profile. A single cast beaded / raised rib separate the plate into two parts, either side of this rib are marks that might be described as laureate wreaths. The reverse is plain and undecorated. The artefact is a mid grey green colour with a well formed patina - it is recovered from an area rich in later Roman artefacts and coins. The artefact measures 19.1mm length, 24.1mm width, is 2.3mm across the plate and the rib projects 0.6mm. It weighs 4.01 grams
