An incomplete cast copper alloy Colchester derivative Polden Hill type brooch of Roman date (80-120 AD). The wings are near complete with flat and pierced end cap. The axis bar, spring and pin are lost. The spring was probably formed of copper alloy wire which was held in place by an external cord which is fixed to a rearward facing hook positioned at the midpoint on the upper edge of the reverse. An incomplete cast copper alloy finger ring of 2nd - 3rd Century Roman date (AD 100-300). The bezel is a horizontal oval shape, which has been much abraded by movement in the ploughsoil. The external edge of the bezel is lost, however, this was originally filled with a cast four spoked whirlygig / wheel formed of four semi-circular arms projecting evenly from a central point. An incomplete and abraded copper alloy Roman Trumpet brooch dating from AD 75 - 175. The bow has an angular profile and an angular D shaped cross section. The bow tapers from a flared head to a broken abraded point on the lower bow - the foot knop and catch plate are lost. The head of the brooch is relatively well preserved being oval in plan, and expanding into the bow. A heavily eroded and corroded copper alloy folding razor or knife dating from the later Roman period (200- c. 400 AD). Although fragmentary this form of knife usually depicts in openwork a hound biting the rump of a hare. This fragment is too heavily eroded to identify further but in size form and shape conforms to this object type. The fragment is a mid light purple brown with significant areas of metal loss due to corrosive pitting.
