A complete red glass paste intaglio from a plate brooch of Roman date, c.AD 100 - 300. The intaglio is ovate and sits within a thin copper-alloy setting. The intaglio features a crude design, possibly a crude bust, though it cannot be sufficiently distinguished.
The object is 15.7mm long, 13.4mm wide, 2.2mm thick and weighs 1.1g.

A fragment of a probable glass bracelet of Roman date, c.AD 50 - 200. Kilbride-Jones type 2.
All that remains is a circular sectioned strip of plain blue glass, broken at both ends. The fragment is likely to be the central decorative strip which would have been fitted into a recess on the bracelet proper.
The bracelet is 32.3mm long, 3.5mm in diameter and weighs 0.8g.

A complete piece of molten glass waste of probable Roman date. The piece is irregularly shaped with regular air bubbles visible across all surfaces. It is a blue-green colour with bands of varying degrees of colour running through it.
The piece is 42.2mm long, 31.5mm wide, 24.5mm thick and weighs 38.6g.
The piece was recovered from an area displaying a high concentration of Roman material suggesting a similar date. It is however also possible the object is much more recent in date.

A fragment of a glass bracelet of Roman date, c.AD 50 - 200. Kilbride-Jones type 2.
The bracelet fragment is D-shaped in section with worn breaks at both ends and is formed from a light blue glass. At the apex of the curved side a semi-circular groove is present into which a separate strip of darker blue opaque glass has been fitted through marvering. This strip has faint transverse striations suggesting it was twisted which is a common feature on bracelets of this type. A fragment of a glass vessel of Roman date. The sherd is sub-triangular in shape with a D-shaped section. It is aclear, light green glass with no visible air bubbles. The longest edge has a projecting curved rim with is broken to the upper aspect from which the side of the vessel would have extended.
The fragment is 61.1mm in length, 38.8mm wide, 11.3mm thick and weighs 24.2g.
Jennifer Price, Emeritus Professor at Durham University, states that the sherd is likely to be from a square bottle of the later first or second century. A variety of prismatic-bodied bottles were utilised…

A fragment of a glass bracelet of Roman date. Kilbride-Jones type 2.
The bracelet fragment is D-shaped in section with worn breaks at both ends and is formed from a light greenish-blue glass. At the apex of the curved side a semi-circular groove is present into which a separate strip of glass has been fitted through marvering. This strip is comprised of alternating opaque blue and white glass which have been twisted together creating a twisted rope effect.
The bracelet is 16.2mm long, 10.2mm wide, 7.9mm thick and weighs 1.7g.

An incomplete glass bead of probable Roman date. The bead is circular in plan with a central perforation. The glass is a mid blue colour and survives in good condition though roughly 1/3 has been lost to an old break.
The bead is 9.1mm in diameter, 7.1mm thick and weighs 0.6g.
Glass beads are very difficult to date with any certainty without any contextual evidence or diagnostic features however this bead was found in a similar area to other artefacts of Roman date.
