A circular foot from a ceramic pedestal vessel of Roman date, c.AD 43 - 410. The fabric is pale grey with a coarse sandy texture and a circumferential groove to the outer edge. A darker grey slip is present on the base and sides. The upper surface is irregular in patches with possible transfer of material from the body of the vessel. It is possible that the two vessel elements failed to join adequately during the firing process. The fragment is 66.5mm in diameter, 16.2mm wide, 15.6mm thick and weighs 58.5g.
