A fragment from the head and bow of a cast copper alloy Roman trumpet brooch dating from AD 75 - 175. All that remains of the brooch is the head of the brooch which is circular in plan with an integral loop and the mid section of the bow. The foot terminates in a broken and rounded point. There is no evidence of the catch plate or foot of the brooch. The decoration on the bow consists of a swollen moulded D shaped in profile raised moulding which is decorated above and below by a single recessed groove on the front of the bow only. An incomplete cast copper alloy Colchester derivative brooch of Roman date (AD75-175). The foot and catchplate are lost as is the spring and pin. The bow head is hump-like, and slightly angular (comma shaped) in profile. On the reverse of the head at the upper edge are the remains of a hook that would have once held the spring in place. A fragment of a copper alloy, Roman bow brooch probably of Polden Hill type (c.AD75-AD175) or possibly a Trumpet brooch (c.AD75-AD175). The fragment is sub oval in plan. Due to its fragmentary nature it is problematic to assign a firm classification. It is broken at the head, therefore the spring, bow, pin, foot and catch plate are missing. Iron staining indicates the former position of the spring on the largest flat surface of the fragment. The object has a dark green patina. The fragment measures 16.6 mm in length, 11 mm in width and weighs 4.8 grams.

An umbonate plate brooch, of Roman dating (100 - 250 AD). The brooch is sub circular in plan, with three incomplete projecting knops protruding from the edge. The body of the brooch is domed in profile and this is decorated with a central circular cell surrounded by two concentric rings of triangular cells which originally would have held enamel. The inner and outer rings circle consists of 14 triangular cells each. A thin rim is present around the edge of the outermost circle. A complete Roman copper-alloy crescent type "Aesica" brooch of first century AD date, possibly dating to circa AD43-100. The brooch comprises an upper curved bow and a lower flat bow. The spring-case has a width of 16.4mm and diameter of 3.5mm.
