An incomplete late Roman/ Early-Medieval (AD 400-600) penannular brooch of Fowler's Type D and Booth's type D2. The frame is sub-circular, and oval in cross-section. The pin is missing. The brooch is made from a single cylindrical piece of copper alloy that has been bent into a circle, with the outer edges bent back to form terminals lying flat against the frame. The terminals each have a pair of incurved facets on their top edges and a groove across each end, forming what looks like a very stylised animal head (Booth, 2014, 148: type D2). A Roman copper alloy Trulla or pan handle dating to the second century AD. The pan handle consists of a single flat piece of copper alloy. The handle has a curved upper edge with a large semi-circular perforation. The curve of the perforation mirrors the curve of the upper edge of the handle. Below the upper curved edge the handle broadens around the perforation where there are two animal heads flanking the outer edge of the object. A Roman silver denari of Quintus Caecilius Metellus Pius (c. 130 BC - 63 BC) dating to 81 BC (Reece period 1) Reverse type depicting the jug and litus. Mint of Northern Italy. The flan on which the coin is struck coin measures 2.1 mm, this is perhaps thicker than regular examples. (RRC (1974:p.390) no. 374.2. The issue was produced by Quintus Caecilius Metellus Pius, serving as a Sullan commander in the fight against Carrinas, Norbanus and Carbo. The reverse type may have a Sullan as well as a family significance (RRC 1974).

A copper alloy 'umbonate' style plate brooch of early Roman date (100-250 AD). The brooch has been eroded on the outer edges, probably recently in the ploughsoil and is no longer complete. The pin and catchplate are missing. The brooch is broadly circular in plan and 'D' shaped in profile. The brooch has a pronounced angular conical central boss which is surmounted by two incomplete sub-rectangular projections, one on the upper edge, and the other on the lower.
