A possible lead or lead alloy spindle whorl dating to the Roman to Medieval Period (AD 43 - 1500). In plan it is sub-circular and in profile is sub semi-circular. There is a central circular perforation which is 9.62mm diameter. The upper surface of the spindle whorl is decorated with a feint radiate ridges. The base is flat and undecorated. The surface of the spindle whorl is oxidised and is a cream colour.
It measures 31.08mm diameter and stands 10.56mm tall. It weighs 54.5g.
