An incomplete cast copper alloy trumpet brooch dating to c. AD 75 to 175. The head of the brooch is missing the wings and in plan is a horizontal oval. The upper edge has a trace of an integral perforated lug (headloop). The oval head tapers to a broken edge, the bow, terminal, foot, pin and catch plate are missing. On the reverse of the bow head there are two vertical sub-oval integral lugs. Between these lugs are the traces of two coils. The brooch fragment is undecorated. An incomplete Roman copper-alloy Hod Hill brooch (AD43-75). Hattatt Class B (with side lugs). The top edge is stepped and is perforated with a copper pin that passes through the perforation rather than the pin being rolled in situ. The pin has been flattened at the top end and tapers to a point which has been bent and distorted so it no longer extends to the catch plate. The remains of a copper alloy artefact, possibly part of a Roman Brooch. One end of the fragment is circular in cross section, this then tapers to a moulded collar and a rounded knop which is sub oval in plan. There is a horizontal line along the main body of the object which could possibly be where a catch plate was once attached. It has light green to brown uneven patina. The artefact measures 28.2mm in length, the maximum width is 7.9mm and the minimum is 4.5mm. It weighs 6.5 grams.

A fragment from the head and bow of a cast copper alloy Roman trumpet brooch dating from AD 75 - 175. All that remains of the brooch is the head of the brooch which is circular in plan with an integral loop and the mid section of the bow. The foot terminates in a broken and rounded point. There is no evidence of the catch plate or foot of the brooch. The decoration on the bow consists of a swollen moulded D shaped in profile raised moulding which is decorated above and below by a single recessed groove on the front of the bow only. Roman: Base-sherd of an oxidised (orange) wheel thrown ceramic vessel, Severn Valley Ware, dates from the 2nd to 4th Centuries AD. The sherd probably originally came from a storage jar type vessel. The sherd measures 28.0mm length, 58.3mm width, the side wall is raised 12.0mm to the point of break. The base is 12.0mm thick and the sidewall is 4.9mm thick. It weighs 17.2 grams. A Roman silver denari of Quintus Caecilius Metellus Pius (c. 130 BC - 63 BC) dating to 81 BC (Reece period 1) Reverse type depicting the jug and litus. Mint of Northern Italy. The flan on which the coin is struck coin measures 2.1 mm, this is perhaps thicker than regular examples. (RRC (1974:p.390) no. 374.2. The issue was produced by Quintus Caecilius Metellus Pius, serving as a Sullan commander in the fight against Carrinas, Norbanus and Carbo. The reverse type may have a Sullan as well as a family significance (RRC 1974).

A possible lead or lead alloy spindle whorl dating to the Roman to Medieval Period (AD 43 - 1500). In plan it is sub-circular and in profile is sub semi-circular. There is a central circular perforation which is 9.62mm diameter. The upper surface of the spindle whorl is decorated with a feint radiate ridges. The base is flat and undecorated. The surface of the spindle whorl is oxidised and is a cream colour. It measures 31.08mm diameter and stands 10.56mm tall. It weighs 54.5g.
