An incomplete cast copper alloy brooch of Colchester-derivative Polden Hill (fMackreth Group 4, flat wing ends), Mackreth 2011, 4.a-4.b, 4c, Plate 46 type, AD 80-120. The wings are semi-cylindrical with perforated wing / end caps. The wing caps are complete. The rearward facing hook, spring, pin, foot and catch plate are missing. The remains of the rearward facing hook is visible, this is located at the centre of the bow on the upper edge. The bow head is hump-like, and slightly angular (comma shaped) in profile.
