A Polden Hill type Roman brooch dating to between c. AD 80 and 120: The wings are semi-cylindrical, terminating with incomplete wing caps. The axis bar is possibly iron with an spring whose coils are not visible due to corrosion. The pin is missing. The wings are undecorated. At the edge of the wings and bow head there is a small intregral hook which holds the chord in place. The bow head is hump-like in profile and is undecorated.
