An incomplete copper alloy pin of probable Roman dating (AD 43 to AD 410). Less than 50% of the pin is present, consisting of the head and part of the shank. The shank has a rectangular cross section. The head is conical, with a flattened circular top. The base of the head has facetted sides which continue into the shank. No collar is present at the base of the head. The shank is not straight but exhibits a curve towards the end. The break is patinated. It measures 30.0 mm in length. An incomplete copper alloy probable polyhedral pin, of probable Roman dating (AD 43 to AD 400). The head is sub-spherical with a rounded top. The pin shaft has a circular cross section. No collar is present. The pin head has a length of 8.3 mm, with a diameter of 8.3 mm. The pin shaft has a diameter of 3.6 mm. Altogether, the pin has a length of 37.1 mm, and is 8.6 mm thick. It weighs 4.6 g. The pin is a dark green colour, with an even surface patina. Abrasion, caused by movement whilst within the plough soil, has resulted in the loss of some of the original surface detail.
