Copper alloy and iron brooch. Small cast hinged Colchester derivative brooch, Mackreth type CD H 5.b. Plain cylindrical wings clenched behind retain an iron axis bar for a hinged pin [lost] and are clasped by a small bow of rounded oval section with a step at the top and a central billeted longitudinal strip. The  bow tapers to a plain foot; catch plate lost. The surface is possibly darkened by treatment with oil by the finder.
