A silver Roman penannular finger-ring with two snake head terminals. The tips of the heads almost butt together and as such can be identified as a Johns' type Bii.
The single penannular loop has an external height of 22.9mm and width of 27.3mm. The band that forms the hoop has a rectangular cross-section at the base. This has a thickness (external to internal surface) of 2.3mm x width 3.2mm. The sides of the hoop flare out to either side of the base, retaining the rectangular cross-section, and measure 2.2mm (external to internal surface) x width 3.6mm approximately hal…

A Roman silver finger-ring of Guiraud type 2. This artefact weighs 9.15g, has a height of 20.1mm, width of 23.6mm and thickness of 12.7mm.
The band forms an oval hoop with 'D' shaped cross-section, the outer surface having a pronounced convex curve. The inner surface is, in contrast, much flatter with just a slight hint of convex curve in some areas. At a quick glance one would describe the inner surface as flat. At the base of the hoop the band measures 5.7mm with a thickness of 1.8mm. Halfway up the sides of the hoop the band measures 8.2mm with a thickness o…

A silver Roman finger-ring that has broken into two pieces. Probably a Henig Type VIII which dates to the second or third century AD. The artefact weighs 3.44g, with the smaller fragment accounting for 0.56g of the total weight. The hoop has a width of 21.2mm and height of 19.6mm.
The lower half of this finger-ring has a semi-circular shape however, the upper half is faceted so that the overall shape of the hoop cannot be described as circular. This lower half possibly has a tighter arcing curve than it originally did due to being squashed inwards from the sides. The lower h…

A squashed and incomplete copper-alloy Roman finger-ring. This is a Guiraud type 2 finger-ring which suggests a first to early third century AD date. The angle at the top of the shoulder to the bezel possibly suggests some stylistic influence of the Guiraud type 1 (c.50 BC to AD 100) possibly indicating that this specific ring was made earlier within the given data range. See https://finds.org.uk/counties/findsrecordingguides/finger-rings/ .
