A complete copper alloy penannular brooch of Roman date (AD 43-410). Fowler Type D, Booth type D7, Bayley & Butcher, 2004, Type P4. The object is circular in section and plan, with the terminals of the brooch recurved over the ring and flattened. The terminals have a central notched waist with a groove to either side to emulated animal heads. The pin is retained and is composed of a thin tapered wire which is recurved around the body of the brooch. Diameter: 29.69mm, Thickness: 4.08mm, Weight: 4.8g The metal is dark green in colour with a slightly pitted patina.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy T.shaped Initial, hinged brooch of Roman date (AD 50-150). Description: The head of the brooch consists of tubular wings, with a slot for a hinged pin, now missing, the axis bar for which is threaded through the wings. The bow narrows slightly from the head and ends in a transverse break. It is decorated with a raised moulded triangle, the sides of which are engraved. The bow is sub-circular in cross section and is almost straight sided from its break (5.0mm) to the foot (3.1mm) which is rounded.
