A small body shard from a Roman Gaulish Samian Ware vessel, dating from the 1st to mid-3rd century. The fabric is orange-red in colour with a glossy slip. It has a hard fine texture with abundant small limestone, fine quartz and mica inclusions. The shard is too small to determine the original form of the vessel. A shard from the base of an Oxfordshire Ware vessel. Around half of the base survives. The fabric is orange-buff in colour with sparse sub-angular iron ore inclusions varying widely in size and sparse large chalk lumps set in a micaceous matrix. Dark red-brown slip decorates the outer surface. However, this is heavily abraded and missing in places. Some of surviving slip shows a slight sheen on a few small patches. A shard from the base of a Roman, Nene Valley Ware vessel, dating to the 2nd to 4th centuries AD. The fragment consists of over half of the base of the vessel and a small portion of the sides. The fabric is off-white in colour with a sandy texture. Both the inner and outer surfaces have a dark brown-black slip colour coat that is missing in places, particularly on the inside surface. Abundant very fine quartz sand inclusions. Two shards of Roman fine grey ware, found close together. Consisting of one rim and one base shard of a similar fabric. Both have grey inner and outer surfaces, with darker grey patches that are abraded in places, and slightly lighter cores. The main inclusions are sparse fine mica, abundant clear quartz and sparse light chalky fragments of various sizes. The base shard has part of the gently curving body of the vessel attached. A complete copper-alloy Roman Trumpet brooch dating from 75-175 AD. Behind the head, the circular headloop remains intact and complete, where a hinged copper-alloy pin would have been held in place with a cylindrical axis bar. The upper bow is rhomboid in section and undecorated. The central moulding, which does not extend to the back of the brooch, consists of three petals either side of a moulded ridge. Rim shard of grey ware, the rim is rounded but almost horizontal to the body, with a slightly convex upper surface, below this apporx 1cm of vertical body wall survives before the vessel begins to 'belly out'. The colour is fairly consistent all the way through the fabric, and is of a pale to medium grey colour.

A small rim shard of Argonne Colour-coated ware with orange fabric (2.5YR 6/8) with matt black slip; the fabric is quite fine and the wheel marks prominent, there are very small but visible inclusions of sparse white grains. The rim gives a diameter of approximately 10cm, is slightly lipped rim from which body bulges outwards; the body is decorated from approx. 1cm below the rim with rouletting.
