A copper alloy probable contempary copy (Barbarous radiate) of a radiate of Divus Claudius (the deified Claudius II after AD 270), dating to the period AD 275-285 (Reece Period 14). Probably CONSECRATIO reverse type depicting altar. Probably copying mint of Rome. The coin is very small and is very worn but traces of legend can be seen, probably CONSECRATIO, or a garbled version.

Incomplete and worn cast copper alloy Roman brooch. The wings, pin, spring and a short segment of the upper bow survive. The wings and pin fitting are unusual in form with the wings, which are sub-circular in profile, being cast to mimic the coils of a spring. The actual spring of the pin fitting consists of only 4 coils and is positioned to one side of the centre of the wings; to both sides of this spring the wings are moulded with semi-circular grooves in imitation of a spring running the full length of the rear of the wings. Roman cast copper alloy one-piece Colchester brooch, Hull T90, c.AD30-70. The pin and the left side of the spring (when viewed from the back) are missing; the right side of the spring has four turns. The external chord is held by a hook turned back from the top of the bow. The wide crossbar extends to the end of the spring and is undecorated; the end of the right crossbar (viewed from the front) is bent outwards. Roman cast copper alloy Langton Down type brooch fragment, head and upper part of bow only. Mid 1st century c. AD43-70. Sprung pin bent to one side and with the tip missing; spring held within cylindrical spring-cover; the head is undecorated; unclear transverse line/band across the top of the bow which arches abruptly downwards. The lower part of the bow is broken off. Patchy dark brown and light green powdery patina; possibly has been exposed to heat. Length (incomplete; including pin) 29.7mm, width across wings 25.1mm, width across top of bow 15.3mm, thickness 11.4mm, weight 10.56g.
