An incomplete post-Medieval iron cannon ball (c. 1580-1706). This cannon ball is corroded and has a small portion missing due to a break or corrosion. Due to corrosion it may be smaller than originally made. However, its present diameter and weight may indicate that it was used in a saker, minion or falcon, c. 1580-1706 (Blackmore 1976: 392-398). An apparently complete possible post-Medieval iron cannon ball (c. 1580-c. 1700). The ball is corroded and pitted and has a circumferential casting seam. A post-Medieval iron cannon ball (c. 1580-c. 1650). The ball is spherical but has a circular slightly flattened area, c. 34.0mm in diameter. The coarse surface is light and dark brown. Diameter: c. 76.0mm (c. 3.0 inches). Weight: c. 3lbs 11ounces. This cannon ball could possibly have been for a minion or falcon (Blackmore 1976: 393-396). A complete post-Medieval iron foot patten (c. 1720-c. 1900). This patten has an oval ring, rectangular in cross-section. It has a raised platform at the heel end where there is a trapezoidal attachment plate and a raised platform at the toe in the shape of a circle with a long, tapering protrusion at the front edge. The trapezoidal heel plate has two iron rivets remaining in place on the outer edge and the toe plate has two iron rivets in the centre. The patten is complete but corroded overall. A complete post-Medieval iron and gilded watch winder (c. 1800-c. 1900). This winder is in the form of an annular ring with a terminal knop and the remains of a pin at the opposite end. The pin is contained within a double-grooved globular housing. The knop has a raised scrolled/floriate design and the outer face of the ring has oblique grooves. The winder is slightly worn. A post-Medieval iron harness boss (c. AD 1700-1800). The boss is circular in plan. At the front it has a down-turned rim and at the centre there is a pronounced convex nipple-like feature which is concave at the rear. The front face has the remains of a copper-alloy coating. It has three evenly spaced iron rivets on the rim which have domed heads. An incomplete cast copper-alloy and iron dagger of probable 17th century date. The dagger blade, made of iron, is incomplete and is firmly attached to a copper-alloy guard (quillon). The blade is 50.6mm in length and has a width of 24.1mm where it makes contact with the guard on the underside. It is a slender pointed oval shape in cross-section. Incomplete iron flintlock mechanism of probable Post Medieval date (AD 1600 - AD 1800). Length 80mm, width 38mm and 18mm thick. Weight 60.29g. The piece consists of the cock, a rotating arm with the jaws for the flint. The flint is intact and is retained within the upper and lower jaw by an adjustable locking screw. The upper jaw is attached to an adjustable slide. The lower part has a square pivot hole (5mm x 5mm) to accommodate the tumbler and cock. Incomplete and very corroded iron rowel spur of probable Post-Medieval date. Length 75mm, maximum width between the outside edges of the sides 76mm, maximum thickness 12mm. Weight 46.39g. The terminal of each side and the rowel are missing. The neck is about 19mm in length and is circular in cross-section. The rowel box is at angle of about 30 degrees in a downwards direction from the horizontal neck. Due to corrosion it is not possible to determine whether the rowel bar is in situ. There are traces of a non-ferrous plating, probably tin.

Possibly complete and very corroded horseshoe of probable Post-medieval, seventeenth century date. Length 147mm, width 148mm and 14mm thick at the heel. Weight 422g. The horseshoe has a keyhole shaped frog and the toe and quarter are narrow in relation to the feathered heels which are splayed but become more pointed at the terminals. There is no evidence for calkins or toe clips. The shoe is slightly fullered on the ground surface. Holes for nails appear to be absent.
