It consists of a main plate, which is expanded in the centre, becoming narrower towards its surviving end, which terminates in a trefoil terminal with a small hole through its centre. A complete copper alloy post-medieval strap mount. The object is conical in shape with a concave outer face and concave reverse. The outer face has concentric grooves around the outside and centre and a small knop extending from the centre. There is an integral lug to either side of the reverse. A number of similar example have now been recorded with the PAS and Dr Kevin Leahy suggests a post-medieval date range, c.AD 1500-1650 (see PAS record FAKL-0BA78E).
