Incomplete copper alloy Post-Medieval openwork bridle boss. The object is sub-circular in shape. It has a raised, circular, openwork boss in the centre, which is concave to the reverse and is formed from a fleur de lis with a rope work border around its base. Beyond this there is a flat section, decorated with a raised design, probably foliate, but which has become obscured due to erosion. There are two attachment holes through this section, equidistant to one another, but they have both become damaged and the metal around them has broken away leaving only two notches. Probably of 17t…

A lead double musket ball of Post-Medieval date. The two balls are cylindrical, though one is very bent out of shape. They are joined by a small integral bar. Double musket balls are occasionally found and some are believed to have been designed this way to maximise their impact when fired. However, the bar attached to these is quiet long and narrow, suggesting that it is more likely to be a casting sprue. The balls are extremely worn and pitted, so it is difficult to see whethet there are the remains of further casting sprues on the opposite side of each, something that would further…

Post-Medieval powder holder cap made from sheet lead. The sides are comprised of a strip of lead bent into a circle and attached to edges of the circular face. The other face remains open to allow the cap to fit onto the powder measure. These are common finds from Civil War sites and the complete holder would have been attached to the bandolier via a cord running through two missing loops at the edges (Courtney 199, 2). The sides of the object have become squashed together leaving the base distorted. Length: 27.94mm, Width: 15.63mm, Thickness: 14.54mm, Weight: 12.36g

A copper alloy Medieval or Post-Medieval vessel leg. The leg is very simple in form. In cross-section it is sub-triangular, with a slight ridge down reverse. Both ends culminate in a rough section. The leg appears to belong best to Butler et al.'s (2009, p.5) four type, though it is a very crude example. This simple type of leg, which typically has no foot appear to have been primarily in use in the 18th and 19th century and is associated with sand-casting.
