A copper alloy early Post-Medieval dress hook of Read's Class E, Type 6, quatrefoil. The object has been cast in one piece in moulded-relief and openwork. The frame is in the form of quatrefoil 'knot' with five raised pellets. The outer frame is decorated with grooves. Where the object extends to form the rearward facing hook is a triple ribbed collar. The hook is complete. At the opposite end the attachment loop is sub-rectangular in plan. The object has a mid-green patina and is in good condition. The object is decorated in moulded-relief with a central human face. The face appears to be bearded however the details are worn. Surrounding the face is an inner linear circle and an outer beaded border between which is a circle of raised pellets. The rear of the object is concave in the centre. The object is decorated with a moulded flower, probably a rose, in relief. The flower has five petals. The rear of the object is flat and undecorated. It has a dark brown patina. There is a rounded knop at the juncture of the plate and the hook. The hook which is rearward facing is broken where it begins to curve. The hook is missing due to an ancient break. The dress hook is decorated with an equal-armed cross with a central pellet within a linear circle and surrounded by openwork. The outer edge of the object is engrailed and beaded. The object has a mid green-brown patina. The body is circular in shape, Class E Type 3 (see Read, 2008: 319) with a hollow domed boss bearing a moulded relief of a five petelled double rose. The undersive is concave and the hook is somewhat distorted.The attachment loop is trapezoidal, and the end of the hook is missing. There is some evidence of gilding on the surface. A copper alloy early post-medieval dress hook of Read's Class E, Type 3. The object has been cast in one piece and is decorated with openwork and moulded relief work depicting a rose. The central decoration is a five pettaled rose. The attachment loop is rectangular and the object has an incomplete rearward facing hook with a transverse collar where it joins the face of the oval face of the object. An exact parallel has not been found however similar examples can be found in Read, (2008), p97-103. Dimensions: 40mm in length, 18mm in width, 2mm thick, 2.1g.

A lead-alloy and iron Tudor dress hook dating from the post-medieval period, which is c. AD1500-1700. The object is decorated with three domed bosses separated by bars radiating from a central smaller domed boss. At the rear of the object is an oval sectioned bar beneath which is a casting seem. Projecting from the rear of the object is a length of iron covered in lead which would probably have extended to form the hook. The object has a light white patina. An incomplete silver-gilt dress-hook . The object is lozenge shaped in plan. It consists of a cast back-plate with a large trefoil knop on each apex and a smaller version in the centre of each side.
