An incomplete cast copper alloy double looped buckle dating to the post-medival period, c. 16th century. The remaining buckle consists of just over half of one D-shaped loop. There is a moulded floral motif on the edge of the outer frame. The reverse is flat, plain and undecorated.
Similar buckles with more rounded and pronounced rosettes tend to be attributed a later 16th-century date (Egan 2005, 35; ref. 88, found in a 17th century context but assumed to be residual), although the type must pre-date 1545 as it was found on the Mary Rose (Gardiner ed. 2005, 104; ref. 82A5069). An incomplete cast copper alloy double looped buckle of post-medieval date. The buckle has ornate floral mouldings on the outer frame. The strap bar is narrowed and there is a small knop floral moulding and V-shaped knop protruding from the frame edge either side. The pin is now missing. The remains of a black coating can be seen. The reverse is flat and undecorated. Ornate moulded buckles of this shape became popular around c. AD 1550 through until the early 18th century.

Two complete but worn and damaged lead alloy seals dating from the later 18th or 19th century AD. The seals have a large crown on one side and the words CUSTOMS AND EXCISE over three lines on the reverse. These are British customs seals probably used on bags of flax seeds imported from the Netherlands, showing that they had been checked and approved (and taxed) by British customs.

A complete cast copper alloy strap fitting of post-medieval date. The fitting has been cast in one piece and has a trilobed openwork body in the form of a trefoil with central heartshaped motif. There is a rounded but elongated attachment knop at one end and a rear-facingclose butted blunt hook at the other. Between the main body of the fitting and the hook is a triangluar section through which is a rivet. The object is of copper alloy but is stained to an iron colour. A complete silver medieval vervel (hawking ring), dating to the late 17th century AD. The vervel is circular in plan and has an angled D-shaped section, with the outer face being flat and the inside being bevelled. An inscribed inscription runs around the outer face of the vervel. It reads: 'Radley in Com: Berks Of', or possibly 'Of Radley in Com: Berks', meaning 'of Radley in the County of Berks(hire)'.

A complete but worn copper alloy trader's farthing token of later 17th century date (AD 1643-1672). The token is very worn but does not appear to be an Oxfordshire issue. The obverse appears to depict a female's head within a shield (possibly the maid's head' logo), and the initials C over G D on the reverse.

A complete and very nice example of a cast copper alloy dress hook / hooked tag of post-medieval date. The dress hook has a circular body moulded in relief and openwork with a rose-like motif in the centre. There is a trapezoidal attachment hook and a collared sharp hook at the other. The reverse is flat, plain and undecorated. An exact parallel can be found in Read (2010:98) no. 365 (Class E type 3), which is dated to the 16th century AD.

A complete knapped gun-flint with lead casing from a flintlock musket of the Post Medieval period, dating from c. AD 1500 - c. AD 1750. The flint is rectangular in shape and triangular in cross-section. The flint is dark blackish-grey in colour with some lighter inclusions. The flint is enclosed on both upper and lower faces by a sub-rectangular folded lead holder.

A complete cast copper alloy dress fastener (dress hook) of post-medieval date. The hook has a rectangular attachment loop at its head and an sub-circular, openwork and deocrated plate below. One area of the main plate has a solid triangular section which is decorated with raised moulded linear and pelleted elements. From the base of the plate extends the intact and complete hook, which is curved to one side. The reverse is flat, plain and undecorated. Read (2008) Class E Type 3, dating from c. AD 1500-1600.

A near complete cast copper alloy post-medieval two-piece shoe buckle, dating to the period AD 1660-1720. The buckle is large with a sub-oval purse or 'cooking pot' shaped loop with two integral prongs and a long horizontal bar which is hollow. Through this bar is an iron rod which secures the double-pronged chape in place and also allows it to pivot freely. The buckle is undecorated and is in very good condition. Whitehead 1996:98 no. 615 (Type VI).

An incomplete cast lead alloy dress hook of early post-Medieval date, about AD 1500 - 1600. Read (2008) Early Post Medieval Class D Type 1. The main plate is broadly rectangular in plan with peripheral knops. In the centre of the face is a raised decorative panel with an unclear design within. The top of the dress hook is missing. On the reverse is a rectangular attachment loop and an integral tube within which is the remains of a separate hook of iron, most of which is now missing. Two similar objects can been found on this database (FAKL-8D8317 and FAKL-B39A62).
