The obverse depicts the Master at his counting table, and the other the alphabet, missing the letters J U Y and the letters HS[.] at the end. The number of coins seen to the left and right of the figure on the obverse has been suggested to indicate the date of issue; on this example there are six 'coins' to the left of the man (as viewed) and one to the right, suggesting a date of 1561.
