An incomplete and bent copper-alloy book clasp dating to the Post-Medieval period (c. AD 1500-1700). The clasp has a flat rectangular plate with a rearward facing attachment hook at one end and a flared, fishtail terminal at the other. A large double ring-and-dot motif has been stamped towards the centre of the plate, with two smaller motifs a result of the extant rivets on either splay of the fishtail. The reverse plate is missing however there is some iron corrosion near the hooked end. The two rivets protrude through the front plate.

A complete worn copper alloy farthing trade token of the 17th century, issued by the Town of Newbury. Obverse: BOROVGH OF NEWBRY, castle with four turrets. Reverse: IN COVNTY OF BERKS, BN 1657 in centre. Dickinson (1986) Berkshire no. 52. Trade tokens were issued between 1648 and 1672 at a time when there was little low denomination coinage being issued by the crown. As a result traders and business proprietors began issuing tokens as an alternate coinage with equivalent denominations of a farthing, half penny or penny. A near complete cast copper alloy strap fitting or decorative mount of post-medieval date (c. AD 1600 - c. AD 1800). The mount is roughly square in plan with rounded corners, a raised central knop ans stems between each of the four corner lobes. There is a circular aperture within each lobe. On the reverse of the mount are two integrslly cast spikes for insertion into a leather strap - one is incomplete. This decorative strap fitting is similar to one illustrated in 'Detector Finds' (Bailey 1995, 87 no 10). It is believed to be 17th century in date and used to decorate horse harness straps.

A worn and bent lead alloy toke dating from c. AD 1600-1800. The obverse has a pair of cross keys with pellets in the quarters formed by the cross, while the reverse has a grid pattern, sometimes interpreted as lines on a ploughed field but more likely to represent a chequer board, which could be associated with accounting or a pub called the chequers. A similar token can be seen in Powell (2015:02 Fig. 5). Similar tokens with cross keys are DENO-7DF672 , SUR-2BC207, SUR-14F342, LANCUM-10BDD5 and BH-7076F4. Reference: Powell D., 2015. A complete copper alloy post-medieval trade weight dating from the period AD 1714-1830 (George I - IV). There are four stamped marks on the face; the sword of St Paul (for London) at 12 o'clock, a letter A at 4 o'clock (standing for Avoirdupois - a system of weights using pounds and ounces as the units), an ewer at 6 o'clock for the Founders Company and the royal cipher of a crowned G at 9 o'clock. An incomplete copper alloy strap fitting of post-medieval date. The fitting is lozenge-shaped in plan with a raised moulding of a cherub's face in the centre. Around the outer edges of the fitting is moulded scrolling designs. On the reverse are the remains of a square sectioned shank. The style of decoration is characteristic of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, and similar cherubs are often seen on gravestones of this period.

A complete copper alloy thimble in very good condition, dating to the early post-medieval period, c. AD 1500-1600. The thimble has a right-hand spiral of punched oval pits running from the open end of the thimble up to and on to the crown, completely covering the crown. There is a circumferential groove below the indentations and above a bare strip at the base of the thimble.

A complete but worn lead alloy token of probably early post-medieval date, c. AD 1500-1800. The token is bifacial and each faces has a moulded design. On one face is a large W formed of overlapping Vs. The other face appears to have a serif I above another symbol, possibly another W or V, but this lower symbol is indistinct. Lead tokens had a wide variety of potential uses such as tallies, gaming pieces, tickets, weights, etc. and are believed to have been locally produced; they are therefore difficult to date precisely. An incomplete post-medieval iron 'Jew's harp', missing only the tongue. The harp consists of a rounded C-shaped end which extends to two prongs, which would have rested in the mouth. There is a groove on the centre of the rounded end where the tongue would have attached. It is sub-lozenge shaped in cross section. The iron of the harp is corroded with fragments flaking. This object probably dates to the post-medieval period c.1600-1800, but could be slightly earlier.

An incomplete cast copper alloy purse bar of the early Post Medieval period, dating from circa AD 1450 - AD 1550, Williams Class D. The purse bar comprises a central heart-shaped block with a vertical circular aperture through which is the remains of the suspension loop bar.
