Post Medieval lead alloy seal or token? c. 30mm in diamater and weighing 15.87g. The object is circular in form and rectangular in cross section and has a raised lip on one surface which has the remains of a recessed attachemnet loop visible (near the base as shown). This lipped side is decorated with the letters 127 sitting above a central raised six pointed star motif. The base is flat and plain. The object could be a wire or thread seal? or some sort of token or tally . For possibly older wire seals see Elton, S F. 'Cloth seals' p274-5 and BERK-738912, LVPL-53C7C1, LEIC-92C067

It is formed of two parts, joined by a thin strip at one side. Each face is decorated with emblems of Norwich, the Castle on one side and a large N surrounding a portculis device.

Early post medieval lead alloy two part cloth seal, 21mm in diameter and 4mm thcik with a weight of 8.10grams. The object is circular in form and rectangular in cross section. It consists of two discs joined by a short rectangular bar. One face is decorated with a large letter A with a double V shaped bar, flanked by three pellets. This stands for the city of Augsburg, Germany. The other side has a 'pine cone' motif consisting of an oval with cross hatching with a trefoil motif at one end. The object is circular and consists of two lead discs, which have been squashed together. On the reverse you can see the outline of a small circular hole which has been filled with lead. Post Medieval lead alloy cloth seal, 19mm in diameter and 2mm thick. The object is in fair condition and weighs 4.31grams. The object is circular and consists of two lead discs, one much smaller than the other, joined together. The large disc shows a Large capital A with small raised loops above and to the right (and possibly the left, though this is not visible) This is contained with a dotted border. The smaller disc has a cross hatched design across it and it sits in the centre of the reverse of the larger one. The object was probably a two or three part seal.

It is decorated with a thistle which probably represents the Duke of Lennox, who along with the Duke of Richmond was responsible for alnaging from 1605. Alnaging is the Official inspection and measurement of cloth.

Post Medieval lead alloy cloth seal, 19mm long, 15mm wide and 2mm thick. The object is in fair condition and weighs 2.44grams. The seal is an unusual shape having a 'crimped' edges. It appears to carry a royal crown with initials which look to be CR, but is more likely a poor G for one of the Georges. It reads '682 England' around the crown and has two initials on teh other side.

Early post Medieval lead alloy seal, 27mm long, 18mm wide and 3mm thick. The object is in fair condition with a grey patina and weighs 5.29grams. The seal appears to have orginally been circular and is made up of two discs. One side is decorated with a foliate design and is inscribed in the middle DOUAI, its place of origin. The other side had a central design resembling a palm tree and eyes which appears to be surronded by an inscription which may contain a K and possibly a date 1550?
