Description: A silver cuff link composed of two ‘buttons’ which are joined together via a chain loop which has been twisted in the centre. Each button is formed from a circular, flat disc with a slightly flared rim. The design on each disc features a flaming heart pierced by two arrows forming a saltire all within a solid border. The background to the design is stippled. The buttons are both slightly damaged as their edge are slightly crumpled. Medieval to Post Medieval (15th to 17th century) unidentified object: The body of the object is cylindrical with the exterior decorated with two fine grooves between which there is a series of pairs of obliquely angled notches which have been cast. One terminal is open revealing an interior shell of sheet copper alloy. At the other terminal this sheet copper alloy protrudes and is squashed and mangled, therefore the original form is not known. Description: A post-medieval gold guinea of James II (1685-8), dated 1688 (Spink 3402). The coin has been pierced near the edge above the bust (i.e. at the 12 o'clock position on the obverse). The perforation is oval in shape due to wear, pulling the edge outwards suggesting the coin was probably suspended as a pendant. Dimensions: 25.1mm diameter. 8.05g. Discussion: This is a coin which has been altered to become a pendant. The wear pattern of the loop suggests it was a well-worn pendant. Post Medieval token: a 17th century trade token issued by Fran Richardson of Worcester. Williamson No. 157. Trade tokens were issued between 1648 and 1672 at a time when there was little low denomination coinage being issued by the crown. As a result traders and business proprietors began issuing tokens as an alternate coinage with equivalent denominations of a farthing, half penny or penny. A complete finger ring which has a D-sectioned hoop. The edges of the finger ring are quite sharp and fresh, suggesting the ring had not been worn or at least worn only for a short time. The interior has an inscription reading 'fortunate if favoured' in lower case - the 'v' in the second word is written as a 'u'. There is not a maker's mark. The object is an incomplete silver-gilt 'eye' element from a two piece hooked clasp. The fitting is sub semi-circular in plan with the straight edge having two broken projections where a loop would have originally been positioned. The breaks are recent. On either side of the fastener there is a circular attachment hole which was used to sew the fitting onto an item of clothing.
