Hammered Silver Penny from the reign of Henry VIII (1509 - 1547).
This penny is from the Durham Ecclesiastical Mint, and was struck under Bishop Cuthbert Tunstall. This is verified by the presence of letters C & D divided by the shield on the reverse side of the coin struck in 1530. The coin appears to be in very good to fine condition, and does not appear to have been clipped. The head area of the portrait appears to be a little worn but still discernable, pleasant toning. It has not been cleaned by chemicals.

This coin is in very poor condition with only a small amount of discernible features left. It warrants little comment, poor example.
