A copper alloy ring of probable Post Medieval date, AD 1500 - 1850. It is circular in plan, and oval in cross-section with an internal casting seam. The patina is smooth. There are visible file marks. It is 16.8mm diameter, 2.2mm thick and 1g. Rings of this nature are fairly undiagnostic, but the condition of the metal suggests a Post medieval date for this example.

A Post Medieval copper alloy cast spherical (or crotal) bell dating from about AD 1500-1750. Only a fragment of the lower part of the bell remains; it has a fish scale design with no maker's mark on the surviving part. The bell measures 32.3mm long, 22.3mm wide and 1.9mm thick. 9.4g.

An incomplete post-medieval cast tinned copper-alloy double loop asymmetrical buckle with moulded decoration, dating from about AD 1575-1700. Only the trapezoid loop survives. The back surface of the buckle is flat, but the front is bevelled. The central strap bar has a small moulded knop at each end. The trapezoid loop is decorated with a moulded, scalloped outer edge which is divided into six rounded lobes. The pin is missing from the strap bar. A copper alloy ring thimble dating from the Post Medieval period, about AD 1550 - 1600. It is an open thimble with a pair of ridges forming a border top and bottom. There is no visible seam. The pits are circular and neatly executed in a spiral that runs up to the right in 7 rows. There is possibly a maker's mark at the start of the spiral but it is too worn to be certain it is not a larger pit. The thimble has a smooth green patina. It is 17.5mm tall, 20.6mm diameter and 5.6g.

A copper alloy incomplete Post Medieval Jetton of Hans Krauwinkel II (AD 1586-1635). Rose and orb type, reading: GOTES SEGEN [MACHT REICH] - God’s blessing maketh rich (from Proverbs 10, 22). Struck in Nuremberg. About half the jetton is missing owing to a jagged break Compare Mitchiner (1988) No 1553 onwards. It is 19.6mm diameter, 0.7mm thick and 0.3g.

A complete post-medieval copper alloy strap mount dating from AD 1500 - 1700. It is sub-triangular, moulded into a possible lotus design with a flat back and convex front. There are two integral pointed mounting spikes on the reverse, both bent over to grip the leather. It is 16.8mm long, 14.7mm wide and 5.7mm thick. 1.8g.
Compare fig 5 in Maslin (2021) Finds Research Group datasheet 55 where a similarly shaped mount is described as a lotus used as a heraldic motif.

An incomplete, copper alloy hooked tag of post-medieval date, AD 1500 - 1700. It is probably of Read's Post Medieval Class E, Type 2, but only the lower part of the pate survives. It is from a shield shaped openwork design probably with three openwork trefoil shaped holes on the lower plate. Just the bottom of these holes survive. A transverse bar divides this area from the tapering part below which is pierced by five circular holes (three blocked ones above two open ones) and has a beaded lower edge. An incomplete, solid copper alloy (tombac) button dating from the post-medieval period about AD 1600-1700. It is circular, with a flat back and a shallowly domed front which has a pimple or knop at the apex. On the reverse are two scars from the missing wire attachment loop. It has a grey green patina. It is 12mm diameter, 4.4mm thick and 2.1g. Compare examples on page 35 of Bailey (2004) Buttons and Fasteners which are attributed to the 17th century.

A cast two-piece copper alloy (Tombac) Post Medieval button dating from about AD 1600 - 1700, with the remains of an embedded drawn copper alloy wire loop, which has corroded away leaving two small green dot deposits. The button is discoidal, solid, with a convex front, a flat back, and is undecorated. Dimensions: diameter: 17.3mm, 6.1mm thick and 4.1g. See “Metal Buttons” Brian Read, Page: 100 no.: 400 and 401, and also fig 8.12 on page 33 of Bailey (2004) Buttons and Fasteners.

A damaged incomplete and flattened copper alloy thimble of Medieval to Post-Medieval date, about AD 1400 - 1700. It has a plain band at the base, with a series of circular pits arranged in a spiral running up to the left and extending onto the flattened domed area (now squashed flat). There are no other markings on the surviving piece and the fragment has a dark green patina. The thimble fragment is 24.3mm high, 26.7mm wide and 4.3mm thick. 5.1g.

A fragment of a copper alloy possible buckle plate or hinge plate of probable Post Medieval date, AD 1500 - 1800. It is a tapering rectangular shape with a rounded narrow end and a broken wide end, but the break appears to be across a projecting hinge tab. There are three rivet holes through the plate, which is also bent, probably owing to damage, into a U shape. In its current state it is 14.1mm long, 14.5mm wide and 4.9mm thick. 0.6g.

A fragment of a copper alloy possible token, coin or jetton of Post Medieval or Modern date, AD 1500 - 1950. Less than a quarter of the flan survives. It has a line border inside the legend on both faces. A large letter C or G or scroll design is visible on one face, and possibly on both, but no other diagnostic features are visible. The legends are illegible. The fragment has a mottled brown patina. It is 20.9mm long, 11.8mm wide and 1.5mm thick. 1g. The estimated diameter is about 25mm.

A complete cast copper alloy post Medieval "pimple" button dating from about AD 1450-1600. The circular button has an undecorated solid head with a convex front and a central projecting pimple in the centre. The back is flat, with an integral perforated shank extending from its centre. It is 12.9mm long, 10.4mm diameter and 1.9g weight. A similar, but not complete example from the database is SWYOR-DC9A53. See Bailey (2004) page 28.

A copper alloy Post Medieval mount dating from AD 1500 - 1700. It has a scallop shell design at one end, with a fleur or tri-lobed shape at the other end. The front is convex and the reverse is flat. There are two integral circular sectioned rivets on the reverse, bent towards each other to grip the leather. It is 14.3mm long, 12.6mm wide and 5.6mm thick. 1.2g. Similar heraldic style mounts can be seen in figure 5 of Maslin (2021) Finds Research Group datasheet number 55.

It is sub-rectangular with integral lugs projecting from the reverse, one at each end, which may have joined to form a square loop. The front is a plate comprised of three sets of flanking lobes spaced evenly along a central bar which has a triangular cross-section. The mount has moulded and gilded decoration of uncertain form, possibly foliate. It is 24.3mm long, 5.6mm wide and 9.5mm thick. 3.9g. An incomplete copper alloy plate from a scale tang knife of Post medieval date, about AD 1500 - 1700. Te object consists of one bolster plate, made integrally with a flat plate to be riveted to the scale tang. The other end of the plate is missing. The bolster, separating the handle from the blade, curves from the handle out to the edge of the blade at one side. There is a double ridge collar dividing the bolster from the rest of the plate.
