A cast lead shot dating from the Post Medieval period, about AD 1600-1800. It is a pistol or carbine (short firearm used by cavalry) ball. The attribution of a weapon is from the mass of the shot from the Shot Finds Recording Guide (https://finds.org.uk/counties/findsrecordingguides/shot/). The casting seam is not visible, however the sprue is visible and it appears to have been trimmed once with nippers. The surface of the ball is damaged, with flat facets and indentations. The damage may be a combination of impact damage and post-depositional factors, but most of the damage is …

A sub-circular lead Post Medieval uniface token dating from AD 1550 - 1800. It fits into Powell type 12 which has a radiating and bisecting line design, representing a millstone. There is a pellet at the centre of the design. The token has a mid grey patina and the reverse is flat and undecorated. The object is 18.0mm in diameter, 5.2mm thick and weighs 8.8g. A sub-circular lead Post Medieval uniface token dating from AD 1550 - 1800. It fits into Powell type 14, having a uniface design of a voided cross in relief. There is a pellet in each angle of the cross. The token has a well developed grey patina. The object is 19.0mm in diameter, 6.0mm thick and weighs 12.7g. An incomplete copper alloy spur, probably dating to the post medieval period, about AD 1600 -1800. Only part of one side survives. At the terminal of this surviving piece there is a single rivet hole for a separate attachment, rather than an integral terminal. The rivet hole contains corroded iron. This end terminates in a smooth curve forming a simple terminal. The broken end is patinated, suggesting a historic break. The fragment has a mottled brown patina. The spur fragment is 90.1mm long, 10.6mm wide, and 4.5mm thick. It weighs 19.15g. Fragmentary spurs are difficult to date …

It has a flat back and a convex front, with a central projecting pimple in the centre. The attachment loop is incomplete but it is oval and made of copper alloy wire. A group of fused coins from Scaftworth, Nottinghamshire. There appears to be eight coins of the same denomination included, all silver halfpennies, probably of Elizabeth I, since the two visible sides are from this reign. As silver coins, they would be of the sterling standard, over 90% fine metal. The weight of the group is 1.92g (0.2g would be a good weight for a single specimen of this coin). A gold finger ring identified by Peter Spencer as a serjeant-at-law's ring dating from AD 1654. The ring has a wide flat hoop with strengthening ridges round the top and bottom and is inscribed on the outer face: "LEGE VIGENTE PROTEGIMVR". This inscription relates to the law, and means "we are protected by a vigorous law". The lettering is in Roman capitals, and many of the uprights have double lines.
