The ring is a memento mori ring with a hoop of flattened D cross-section. The outer surface is engraved with a skull flanked by repeating vegetal pattern of stylized flowers and scrolls, inlaid with black enamel. The inner face of the hoop is inscribed with the text: In remembrance of TA, in italic script. This is followed by a rectangular hall-mark, possibly a B (hard to decipher). A closed thimble made from sheet gold, complete but misshapen. The outer body surface bears horizontal, concentric bands of uniformly executed annulets with dished centres. A varying pattern of alternate annulets and diamonds set into rows decorate the domed crown. A gold touch-piece of James II (1685-88). Such pieces formed part of the ceremony of 'touching for the King's Evil' (scrofula, believed to be cured by the monarch's touch); patients received a memento in the form of a 'touch-piece', suspended on a white ribbon. The early Stuart monarchs (James I, Charles I) used gold coins (angels), pierced to take a ribbon. After the Restoration of Charles II in 1660, special non-monetary gold pieces were made for the ceremony.

Post Medieval gold finger ring dated 1708. The finger ring is a mourning ring and contains significant traces of black enamel set around an intricate floral motif. The hoop is of a low D-shaped section. The interior of the band is inscribed with: DC 12 May 1708 The inscription is followed by a maker’s mark consisting of ‘IG’ over ‘S’ within a heart shaped punch; followed by ‘C’ within a punched circle.

Gold finger ring of Post-Medieval date. The hoop has a thin D-shaped cross-section, and is plain on the exterior. The interior carries an inscription, beginning on the hoop and continuing across the bezel. The inscription is in Lombadic lettering and reads: I PRESENT THE ABSENT The hoop widens slightly as it approaches the shoulders, which carry four raised knops forming a cross. The shoulders end in a raised line, defining a cuff before the bezel depicting two joined hands crowned by two ducks each side of a possible crown. Traces of white enamel survive on the ducks and the hands.

Near complete gold mourning finger ring of Post-Medieval date. The ring is distorted but is otherwise in good condition. The hoop comprises of four S-shaped barbed scrolls carrying an inscription on the exterior. The first S-scroll is shorter than the others and simply carries the letter W. The next S-scroll has: HARRISON, followed by: OB2SEPT, and finally: 1761AE69. Indicating the finger ring was to commemorate W. Harrison, who died on the 2nd September 1761, aged 69.
