Cast copper alloy strap fitting length 35mm, width 17mm, thickness 5mm, weight 3.95g. Flat oval central section with an acorn terminal at one end and a circular terminal at the opposite end. Integral lugs on the reverse side of the terminals, these lugs have been bent at right angles to secure the mount onto the strap, one of the lugs has been truncated, this is an old break. Corrosion has obscuring most of the detail. This artefact dates to the 17th century.

A silver-gilt pin, worn on outer garments or a hat, and possibly a retainer's badge. Cast in one plane, the face and the form as a lion head, with prominent ears, mane and open mouth. An S-curved attachment hook soldered on to the back plate. The hook twisted out of true, some wear to the lion's nose. Pins and badges in the form of animals usually have a connection to a family heraldic crest.
