A Post Medieval silver sixpence of William III (AD 1694-1702). York mint dating to AD 1696 (Spink 3526). Spink (2000: 328). Coin is extremely worn and appears to have been bent into and S-shape. Coins with such a double bend are not uncommon finds but their significance is not fully understood. According to Dr Kevin Leahy such 'Love tokens' were made using coins dating from the time of Elizabeth I (1558-1603) to the reign of Ann (1702-1714) with some Georgian examples. The object is sub-circular in plan with irregular sides. the suspension loop at the apex is sub-square/rectangular in plan and section with a drilled suspension hole off-centre. The weight has two deeply incised X marks on opposing sides just below the suspension loop. The underside of the weight has a central indentation. An incomplete copper alloy buckle dating to the Post Medieval period (c. AD 1620-1680). The object is a double-looped trapezoidal buckle with a trefoil-shaped outer frame. The right hand loop has since broken away. The bar is intact and lies flush with the frame and is surmounted at either end with a rounded knop. The buckle is slightly domed on the over face and slightly concave on the reverse.  The frame is undecorated with a mottled green to brown patina. The underside of the head is concave with an integral, square-sectioned shank placed centrally. The shank is slightly bent and tapers to a blunted point. The object is tear drop shaped with one convex face, which would have fitted into the palm, and one flat face. The entire object has a light grey patina.  Palm guards were for use by leather workers to protect the palm whilst stitching. A complete copper alloy Post Medieval hooked tag of Read's Class E Type 3 dating from c. AD 1500 - 1650. The object has a circular plate with a scalloped outer edge. A trapezoid attachment loop projects from one edge, and opposite is a recurving hook. The plate is solid and is decorated with a central annulet which contains a single rose. The reverse is undecorated. the object has a dark green patina.  See Read (2008: 95-96) for similar examples. Overall dimensions: 31.20mm in length, 13.10mm in width, 0.97mm in thickness and 2.01g in weight.

A possible lead rivet of Post Medieval date (c. AD 1500-1800). The object has a plano-convex head with integral shaft on the underside that tapers outwards before terminating in a convex base. The object is undecorated and has a greyish-white patina.  Similar objects recorded on the PAS database include: LANCUM-73C7A7, NLM-B1A71A and  SUSS-613192. Such an object may have functioned as a repair or strap fitting.  The object measures 17.5mm in length, 14.5mm in diameter and 4.1g in weight.

A complete copper alloy button dating to the Post Medieval period (c. AD 1600-1700). The button is discoidal in plan with a convex front and concave reverse. The outer face is undecorated. On thereverse is a simnple looped shank that appears to be integral. The object has a dark greenish-brown patina. Comparable example can be seen in Read (2010: 107). nos 437-9. The button measures 24.5mm in diameter and weighs 3.6g.

A complete copper alloy probable token dating to the Post Medieval period (C. AD 1700-1900). The object is uniface with a shield surmounded by a small bust facing left. Any legend is now illegible. The face of the token has been heavily stamped with a bell-shaped stamp, leaving a clear indent on the face and projection through to the back of the object. The object has a dark greenish-brown patina.  Overall dimensions: 29.12mm in diameter, 4.53mm in thickness and 9.55g in weight.

The object is probably one half of a biconvex three-piece button with separate shank, with only the upper section remaining. The button is domed with an incised border running around the inner edge of the outer face. No other decoration is apparent and the button has a dark green patina.   See Read (2008: 112-3) for similar examples. An incomplete copper alloy double-looped buckle dating to the Post Medieval period (c. AD 1550-1650). The object is oval in plan with all over moulded decoration on the outer face. The central bar is mostly missing in the middle, with the lower part retaining the remains of the iron pin. The reverse is flat and undecorated.  For a similar example see Whitehead (1996: 69) no. 432.  Overall dimensions: 22.85mm in length, 32.16mm in width, 4.64mm in thickness and 6.64g in weight.
