A complete lead alloy, two-disc, cloth seal probably dating from the late 18th to 19th century (c1750-1850AD). Stamped on one side with what is probably the City Arms of Leeds, being a shield with a biconcave top, with three stars at the top, and probably a fleece below.  The reverse is blank. The seal is formed of two circular discs – one with a hole and one with a rivet – joined by a connecting strip. The bottom two quarters are blank. The combination of pellets are thought to indicate a specific port, but at the time of recording this particular port remains unidentified.
