A Post-Medieval copper alloy composite button, probably dating to c. AD 1600-1800. The button is circular in plan and plano-convex in cross-section, potentially with a separate back plate suggested by a circumferencial seam. The shank is integral to the backplate and is sub-rectangular, with a drilled perforation. Although obscured by corrosion, the front of the button appears to be decorated with an incised motif comprising of a six-petalled compas flower. Dimensions: diameter 25.6mm; thickness 13.6mm; weight 10.2g. cf. Read (2005: 39) nos. 130-131.

A Post-medieval copper alloy buckle, probably dating to c. AD 1500-1650. The frame is single-looped, sub-rectangular in plan and bevelled in cross section. The long arms of the frame are slightly concave, with the corners of the external edge rounded and a central knop projecting from the centre of the outer edge. A Post-Medieval ceramic sherd of North Devon gravel tempered ware, probably dating to c. AD 1600-1850+. A handle sherd, comprising of the juncture between the handle and body of the vessel. A hard fired oxidised ware with an orange-brown fabric containing an abundant coarse grained temper comprising of abundant, angular quartz, c. <2mm, with more occassional ferrous and limestone inclusions. The vessel features a solid, highly glossy, mottled green glaze on the interior surface. Striations on the surface would suggest that the vessel was wiped prior to firing. Weight: 82.06g.

The fragments are irregular in size and shape, with three fragments collectively weighing 86.76g, and with the fourth weighing in excess of 200g. A small sample of a larger body of similar material found on the same site, a number of Post-Medieval pot legs have also been found in the vicinity (DEV-7F1E00, DEV-7F00E7, DEV-7EED86, DEV-7E790C) possibly suggesting activity relating to foundaries and the recycling of copper alloy.
