 A complete silver pedestal fob seal of Post Medieval date, c. AD 1600-1700. Description: The matrix die is oval with an incused design. The pedestal has six facets with distinct divisions which taper to an integral quatrefoil suspension loop. The die face features an incised circular border surrounding a shield containing a chevron depicted as two parallel upwards pointed lines, surrounded by three cabossed stag’s heads, identified through their outward projecting ears and three-pronged antlers. Description: A silver seal matrix dating to the post-medieval period (c.AD1600-1700) The seal matrix comprises a double-sided flat oval swivelling bezel held in situ, although no longer rotatable within its frame. One face of the seal depicts a shield blazoned with a chevron, two boar's heads couped above, one below, all left facing (note that all would be right facing when the seal was impressed). Description: A silver seal matrix, dating to the post-medieval period, c.AD 1700-1800. The die (face of the seal) is oval in plan and rectangular in cross section. The reverse face of the die rises slightly toward centre, and is decorated with a series of oval shaped petals in relief, that radiate from the central pedestal.
