A silver Post-Medieval cufflink or button dating from c. AD 1660-1720. The design conforms to Lewis Form 1, Type A. Description: The artefact consists of a stamped sheet disc with a circular plan and down-turned flange. The obverse is decorated with two hearts positioned side-by-side below a crown on a stippled background and plain flange. The reverse is undecorated with a central wire loop containing a broken iron fragment  - probably the remains of the chain connecting this cufflink to another. Description: An incomplete silver cufflink of the 'Crown and Heart' type, dating to the Post-Medieval period (c.AD1662-1700). The cufflink comprises a single disc with downturned edges that terminate in an out-turned flange. The face is decorated in counter-relief with a crown above two hearts on a stippled field. The loop, soldered to the reverse, provided an attachment point for a short piece of chain, which would have in turn linked to the other disc of the cufflink (now missing). Description: A silver cufflink comprising two discs with downturned edges that terminate in an out-turned lip. The face is decorated in counter-relief with a design of a heart surmounted with a flame, with two oblique arrows in saltire behind it.
