An incomplete cast copper alloy strap fitting or sword belt hangar, in the form of an asymmetrical double looped plate, dating to the post-medieval period, (c.AD 1500-1600). The object is comprised of an irregular asymmetrical plate with two (of three) remaining integral basal loops. The left loop retains its circular suspension-eye, and appears broken at the base; the latter is missing from the central loop. A complete, but misshapen, cast copper alloy finger ring of probable post-medieval date. The bezel is shield-shaped and has been soldered to the band. A join is visible at the solder point on the rear of the bezel, indicating the band was cast and folded to form the (now misshapen) hoop. Some patches of gilding remain on the surface of the finger ring, particularly in the vicinity of the bezel. The metal has a mid brown patina, with patches of active green copper corrosion evident. A complete silver vervel (hawk ring) dating to the post medieval period, c. AD 1550-1700 The vervel comprises the band, D-shaped section, with applied shield. The outer surface of the band is inscribed 'S WYLL MMALL' (Sir William Mallory). The flat-topped shield has a stylised horse's head inscribed onto the surface. A clipped post-medieval silver shilling of Charles I (1625-1649), probably minted at the Tower under Parliament. The initial mark is partially clipped and worn smooth, and is thus illegible. The obverse bust and reverse cross most closely match North (1991, 160) Group F ref:2231. This would date the coin to between 1641 and 1643. Obverse: [.CAROLVS.D.G.MAG.BR.FR.ET.H]I.REX.; Crowned bust left with XII (mark of value) behind head Reverse: .CHRISTO.AVSPICE.REGNO. Description: A silver cufflink comprising two discs with downturned edges that terminate in an out-turned lip. The face is decorated in counter-relief with a design of a heart surmounted with a flame, with two oblique arrows in saltire behind it.
