Post medieval silver halfgroat of Henry VIII dating to the period AD 1526 - 1527. Uncertain initial mark. Mint of Canterbury. See: North, Vol. II, no. 1803 or 1852. Pierced at 7 o'clock on obverse (12 o'clock) on reverse. The perforation of a precious metal coin would normally indicate that it should be considered as potential Treasure. However, since coins of this period with similar piercings appear in hoards of currency, it suggests that such objects could re-enter circulation as coins.
