Iron cannonball of probable post medieval date (c. AD 1575 - 1700). Heavily corroded with a flaking surface. H. L. Blackmore (1976, 392ff.) suggests that cannon balls of this form may have been fired from a post-medieval 'falconet' cannon. As this type endured from the later 16th century through the following century, with slight fluctuations in its diameter and weight of shot. Weight: 528g, diameter: 51.5mm.

Incomplete iron and copper alloy handle from an item of cutlery, probably a knife, dating to the period c. AD 1650 - 1850. It consists of a central iron tang, now heavily corroded, sandwiched between two covex sheet copper alloy plates. The plates exhibit a scrolling foliate design in low relief. Each plate is held in place by two rivets spaced evenly along the surviving length. The tang and both plates all termnate in old breaks. See also: BH-C67493.

Incomplete iron key of post medieval date. The majority of the bow is missing; a short length projects from one side of the shank and terminates in a worn break. There does not appear to be a collar separating shank and bow. The shank appears to be solid and exhibts a moulded double collar just above the projecting rectangular bit. A single cleft divides the bit into two opposing wards. The shank projects slightly beyond the ward, terminating in a transverse break. The size of the key would suggest it was used in a substantial rotary door lock, rather than for a casket. Door locks …

Incomplete medieval to post medieval iron and copper alloy knife dating to the period c. AD 1450 - 1750. It consists of a fragment of the iron tang which has been sheathed in sheet copper alloy. There is a large crack running down one side. Due to the fragmentary nature of this artefact, it has not been possible to assing a narrow date range.
