Post Medieval complete, copper alloy, strap fitting, AD.1600-1700. This is an ovoid mount divived into lobes with a flattened circular terminal at one end. There are two holes piercing the mount to accomodate rivets, of which only iron corrosion remains. The mount is divided broadly into three by a series of linear ridges. The first lobe is a small circular lobe, 6.2mm in diametre with a knop attached as a terminal. A central rivet hole pierces the lobe. There is then a single linear division followed by a larger oval lobe, approximately 15.45mm wide with a rivet hole piercing the end…

Incomplete post medieval, copper alloy, strap end, AD.1500-1650. This is a part of a hinged strap end with an anchor shaped terminal. The main plate and hinge are missing with only the hinged terminal remaining. This is made up of a tapering central bar that tapers away from the hinge, however, it terminates not in a point but in a T shape, with two short projecting arms, one upon either side of the bar.

Incomplete, post medieval, copper alloy, square mount with traces of surface gilding and four in situ rivets AD.1500-1700. This is a lozenge shaped mount with a domed centre that would originally have been decorated, though the object is now worn and the design is illegible. There are four rivets that are placed at the corners of the mount, these have near spherical heads and the shanks have been peened over. The rivets are of copper alloy. The upper surface would originaly have been gilded, some of which is retained, around the rivets where the wear is less.

Post medieval copper alloy Jetton, AD.1400-1600. Obverse, Shield within a tressured border with four lis on it. The shied has a square top and trianguar bottom. Reverse, a cross fourchee with flowers in the angles growing on stems from the surrounding border. Each flower has 4 petals and a single thron/leaf on the curving stem. The legends on the jetton are quite worn and corroded making them difficult to read.

A post medieval copper alloy chape for a curved sabre or dagger, AD.1700-1900. This is a triangular chape, tapering to a point, with an open join where the piece has been constructed from a single folded sheet of metal. The chape curves, convexly along the outside edge and concavely along the inside edge. The metal now has a red/brown colour with little pitting. It has been compressed at the open end and broken at this point.

Incomplete copper alloy, post medieval mount with traces of possible black enamelling AD.1500-1600. The mount is a symetrical flat design of two circular lobes with a horizontal bar separating them. The reverse of the mount has two long projections that emerge from opposite ends of the object, these are then bent at a right angle mid-way along their length and positioned so that their ends almost meet. Incomplete post medieval copper alloy thimble, AD.1400-1550. This is a heavy duty thimble with hand drilled indentations, there is a single line around the apeture of the thimble. Similar thimbles are repredented in Holmes 1988, datasheet 9 fig.2.b. The thimble has been damaged during deposition and has split in two places with a crack running up to the crown and a short way around the circumference. The thimble has a light green patination.

Incomplete, post medieval, 16th century, copper alloy sword belt hanger, AD.1500-1600. The object consists of the eye, loop and part of the strap plate from a sword belt hanger. The plate is flat and waisted with a break in the middle of a second waist. There is a single perforation for a rivet to attach it to the belt strap. The plate has an integrally cast eye and suspension loop similar to that found on PUBLIC-D416B3, object is similar to No.372 Read, 'Metal Artefacts of Antiquity'. There is a worn decorative scheme on the plate that seems to be floral.

A post medieval, copper alloy, trapezoidal double looped buckle, AD.1570-1700. Buckle frame consists of a rectangular frame with a central bar and slightly bevelled edges. There is some iron staining in the middle of one of the end bars, from where the pin has corroded away. The object has a light green patina and has a concave curvature. Similar buckles can be found in Egan and Pritchard 1991 no.442,456 as well as Whitehead 2003 no.506.

Post medieval copper alloy mount shaped like an arrowhead, AD.1600-1700. The mount is shaped like a barbed arrowhead with a spherical knop at the point, the edges of the arrow are bevelled downwards and the upper surface retains evidence for tinning. The reverse has two projecting rivets that have been bent over in order to attach the object. See Read 2001 no.322,324 and 330 for similar parallels.

Complete Post medieval copper alloy, openwork belt plate mount, AD.1500-1600. A rectilinear plate, made up of two openwork oval designs with terminal bars. The ovals are of different lengths, the smallest contains a rough openwork heart while the larger is made up of two open work pelta designs separated by a central bar. In the waist points between the two ovals are triangular floral designs and atop th central point of each oval is a single knop that is not replicated on the lower side.
