A Medieval copper alloy six petalled flower mount dating from the 14th-15th century. The petals are formed of six equal triangular shaped segments. The petals are hollow on the reverse. The central, pointed stud at the rear is folded over where it has been fitted. Examples on the database are assigned wide date ranges. This is a weight for a ryal. The weight is square and features a galley with rose on the obverse. The reverse is blank and undecorated. Similar examples can be see in Withers and Withers (1995:23). A Medieval copper alloy sewing ring, dating to the 15th century. The object was formed of a cast cylindrical tube of copper alloy which tapers from one open end to the other. The thimble is squashed and no longer round. There are 'V' shaped drilled indentations in five bands around the body of the thimble. The metal has a mid-brown to bronze patina. Casting occurred from the 14th century to AD 1530, when cast thimbles ceased in Nuremberg (Homes, 1988:1).
