Unusually wide post medieval cast copper alloy double loop asymmetrical buckle frame with one D-shaped and one trapezoid loop. The D-shaped loop curves out at the centre of the outer edge to create a projecting point in the shape of an ogee arch. The loops are trapezoid in section with bevelled sides and a flat back although the outer edge of the trapezoid loop is worn to an oval shape. The sises of the D-shaped loop are slightly wider. Copper alloy apothecaries weight for 2 scruples. It is rectangular and flat and stamped on both sides with the traditional symbol for 2 scruples (like a backwards capital E joined to a y with two dots above it) with a star above. It measure 12.3mm long, 10.5mm wide and is 2.8mm thick. It weighs 2.39 grams. This type of weight was in use from 1618 AD to the 19th century.

The stop is in the form of a pair of bifurcating horses hooves with deep incised lines between the pair and seperating the 'hooves' from the 'shoes' which are indicated by an incised central line for the frog, raised calkins at the ends and four punched indents for nail holes on each 'shoe'. Post medieval cast lead alloy musket ball, 17.0mm in diameter and 26.31 grams in weight. There are faint traces of a casting seam and several dents and flattened areas, possibly from firing of post deposition damage. Lead bullets such as these were used from c1550 - 1850, most of them are likely to date from the 17th - 18th century as post-1800 most shot was made in shot towers rather than cast.

Post Medieval cast copper alloy double loop buckle frame. The frame has two oval loops which have bevelled backs and bevelled and slightly widened outer edges, one with a transverse groove for a pin rest in the centre. The strap bar is narrowed and recessed with lobed knops at either end. The buckle has a reddish brown surface with areas of green patina. It is 22.6mm long, 17.7mm wide, 2.1mm thick and weighs 2.33 grams. Whitehead (2003) illustrates a similar buckle (page 54, No.307) which lacks the grooves on the loops, which he dates to c.1500-1650 AD.

Opposing sides of the coin have been bent to give it an S shape in profile, coins modified in this way, especially those worn smooth are thought to be love tokens. Rim sherd from a 16th to 17th century German stoneware jug. The rim is c.45mm in internal diameter and has a plain, rounded, top. Running around the outer side are several raised rings. The fabric is pale grey with rare-sparse (1-5%) very fine sand inclusions. It has an almost clear glaze on the outerside which appears mid olive where it is thicker between the raised rings and a pale brown glaze on the inner side. It weighs 7.98 grams.

The fabric is dark orange on the outer side blending to dark grey on the innerside below the glaze. it has sparse sand and occasional large quartz inclusions. The inner side has a fairly even dark brown glaze which appears yellow when thinner. The outer side has a thin dark orange-brown outer layer, possibly from slight vitrification in the kiln. It is in the form of a cord tied in an openwork hungerford knot with pellets on each cord terminal. The terminals of the knotted cord are joined by a bar to form a trapezoidal attachment loop. A Post Medieval copper alloy thimble with maker's mark dating 1520-1620. The thimble has sloping sides and a slightly domed top with a raised centre. The indentations are oval and have been hand stamped in a continuous spiral from the top to the rim with no bare tonsure. The tab that would have joined the two disks is missing from an old break. It is 21.2mm by 18.5mm and 3.6mm thick; it weighs 6.87 grams. The mount measures 32.1mm diameter, 6.8mm thick excluding the spikes, 11.6mm including and weighs 10.69 grams. This mount probably dates to the 16th-17th centuries.

At the centre of the D shaped look the inner side projects inwards in a point forming a wider area. The strap bar is narrowed and recessed. There are traces of a white metal, silver or tin, coating on the front. It is 38.1mm long, 28.3mm wide and 2.5mm thick and weighs 6.90grams. Whitehead (2003:91) illustrates a similar example, no.566, which he dates to c.1575-1700 AD.

Post medieval contemporary copy of a shilling of Charles I (1625-1649). The reverse and initial mark, (R), suggest it is copying a Group F coin dating to 1644-1645 AD. However the obverse portrait appears closer to goup D which was not used with this reverse design and the crude indented lines at the front of the robe do not fall as they would on the real design and also suggest a copy. The frame has two oval loops which have bevelled backs and bevelled and slightly widened outer edges, one with a transverse groove for a pin rest in the centre. The strap bar is narrowed and recessed with corroded lobed knops at either end. It is 27.3mm long, 22.4mm wide, 2.4mm thick and weighs 3.09 grams. Whitehead (2003) illustrates a similar buckle (page 54, No.307), which lacks the groove on the loop, which he dates to c.1500-1650 AD.

Rectangular piece of copper alloy sheet with six regularly spaced rectangular slots around the edge. One slot, in a corner, still contains a copper alloy sheet rivet. It is 57.0mm by 30.2mm by 1.8mm and weighs 6.35 grams. This piece is a vessel repair, probably from a copper alloy vessel. The use of sheet rivets suggest a Medieval to Post Medieval date, c.1450-1700 AD. See SUR-F333C2 and SUSS-881300 on this database for similar repairs still attached to parts of a vessel.

Post Medieval cast copper alloy harness fitting of 18th to 19th century date. The piece consists of a flat oval plate with lobed expansions at each end. The ends of the lobed expansions are thinned, probably to fit between two straps and pierced with a circular hole for attachment. The main plate has a raised outer edge containing a recessed oval panel within which are three concentric raised oval lines. In parts of the recessed areas is the remains of a green-blue substance, possibly enamel or corrosion. It is 50.8mm long, 17.6mm wide and 4.65mm thick; it weighs 14.63 grams.

This break may have happened after deposiiton due to rusting and fracturing of the iron. the piece now weighs 1118 grams suggesting an original weight of c.2,700 grams, 6 lbs. A cannon ball of this size and shape would have been typical for amunition for a saker cannon. The saker is a medium sized cannon developed during the early 16th century AD. Post Medieval cast copper-alloy mount with integral attachment spikes dating to the 16th or 17th century AD. The mount has a flat plate with bevelled edges. It is in the shape of a branch or flower with a short stem at the base above which are two projecting leaves on either side which curve round to meet at their tips creating circular holes between them. Above these leaves, the plate is in the shape of three ovals in a row, decreasing in size to the top.
