Post medieval silver sixpence of William III (1694-1702), unclear type and date , mint unclear, AD 1696-1700, Spink 3520ff.
One edge of the coin has been bent up and the other down to create an S-shaped profile. Coins modified in this way are often referred to as 'love tokens'. The coin is very worn and may have been deliberately smoothed. This example has been partly flattened again and possibly therefore returned to the general money supply.
