Post medieval silver attachment from unclear item, probably small vessel. The attachment is complete but at one end is solvered to a second curved silver object, probably a vessel wall, too little survives of this second part to identify it. The complete piece is flat with an ornate outline and openwork. The central portion is broadly oval extened at one end into a round ended terminal and at the other into a squared off end. The incomplete heel of a post-medieval clay tobacco pipe and vestigial bowl. The bowl has been largely lost to a ragged old break. The base of the heel is flat and broadly circular. It is stamped with the maker's mark, in this case the neat, seriffed incuse letters . IEF [./FRY . H/VNT]; thre is possibly part of a ropework border above. The fragment is 15.9mm by 16.7mm by 13.8mm and weighs 1.43g. The maker's name, Jeffry Hunt, is well documented in the local literature with examples known from Taunton (Leach 1984, 145-146; refs. 17, 18), dated c. AD 1650-1690.

A fragment of a cast copper alloy Medieval to Post Medieval cooking vessel dating from c.AD 1200 -1700. The fragment is part of the the upper rim of a vessel. The rim is narrow and has a very slight internal lip. The fragment is a medium green colour and has a pitted and sooted inner surface with linear scratches running transversely across both surfaces. The artefact is 26.6mm long, 17.2mm wide and has a thickness of 5.0mm. The fragment weighs 5.52grams. Too little survives to estimate the diameter. Probably incomplete Post Medieval - Modern silver whistle in three parts. The whistle is now squashed with the top and bottom plates separated but found together. The whistle is bulbous in shape with an originally circular cross sectioned mouth end widening and thickening to a rounded, circular or oval cross sectioned end. Fragment of a Post Medieval silver heralidic decoration, probably from a livery harness, probably c.19th century in date. The artefact is formed of a moulded thin silver front filled with a lead backing. The remaining section forms a shield of arms with raised design on it and breaks around all the sides. Post Medieval lead disc with a design of a horse and rider, probably a gaming piece or toy or possibly a weight. The disc has a raised cast design on the front wihin an indented circular line border. The back is rounded as though it was cast face down or cast and struck. The horse is galloping left with tail steaming behind them. Fourteen pieces of glazed red eathenware vessels dating to the end of the 17th to first half of the 18th century all found together in an area of the garden with a wine bottle and pipes of similar date. Calcereous deposits suggest highly acidic environment with ash, ie dung heap or latrine. The pieces mostly seem to be of the same fabric, high fired, dark to mid orange with occasional mid to dark grey thin cores and occasional (c.5%) fine sand inclusions including very occasional very fine white quartz. Post Medieval copper alloy 'rose/orb' jetton probably of Hans Krauwinckel II, issued at Nuremberg, c. AD 1586-1635. VERBVM DOMINI MANET IN ETER reverse legend. Mitchiner (1988, 438) no. 1512, reverse has same die flaw at 12 o'clock. The jetton was previously folded in half and has broken along this fold. The reverse, which was on the inside of the fold, is much better preserved.
