2018T442 returned to finder after being declared treasure Description: A Post-Medieval silver double loop shoe or knee buckle with plate and pin, dating to AD 1660 to 1720. The frame of the buckle is rectangular and measures 18.9 mm in length. The upper and lower edges of the frame are wider and thicker in the centre with a convex curved inner edge and triangular profile. The outside edges of the loops are straight and triangular in cross sections with convex front and flat back. Post medieval silver openwork buckle frame, probably a shoe buckle, dating to AD 1769 to 1793. The buckle frame is oval and distinctly arched with the short edges (top and bottom edges) convex curved. The buckle was in two pieces when found, about a quarter had become detached, and has been repaired with the solder visible on the back. The front is decorated with a moulded design of four quatrefoils flanked by scrolling and openwork. One flower is in the centre of each side. Post medieval silver shoe buckle dating to AD 1771 to 1790. The buckle frame is rectangular and distinctly arched with the short edges (top and bottom edges) convex curved. The front is decorated with a design of regularly spaced transverse grooves with raised ridges between, covering the entire surface.
