The coin has been pierced near the edge at 4 o'clock on obverse and 7 o'clock on reverse. The hole is circular with a raised smooth burr on both sides suggesting it was made by drilling. The edge opposite is bent backwards and ragged.

The coin has been pieced at 2 o'clock on the obverse, 5 o'clock on reverse, near the edge with a circular hole drilled from both sides (raised metal both faces). The position on the obvese avoids the kings head. The coin is also bent but it is not clear if this is deliberate.
